A bittersweet story of love, loneliness and friendship taking place in supermarket avenues. The film was honored with the Ecumenical Jury Prize and the Film Guild Award at the 68th Berlin IFF.
The main roles in this unusually romantic image are greatly played by Franz Rogowski, known from the last film of Michael Haneke "Happy End", and Sandra Hüller, star of the Oscar nominee "Toni Erdmann".
The protagonist of the film is Christian, who starts working as an assistant supply in a supermarket somewhere in eastern Germany and thus goes to a new, unknown world of long corridors, the hustle and bustle of cash registers and forklifts.
Under the watchful eye of Bruno manager, shy and withdrawn, Christian will try to master the difficult art of driving a forklift, and approach Marion's employee from the confectionery department, a woman extremely attractive, though unfortunately married.
